Melissa McCarthy Collection

Ever since I have heard about her capsule collection, I have been waiting to see all that Melissa McCarthy for Seven7 had to offer. There were a lot of teasers from many magazines, and I can honestly say I was intrigued. When HSN launched the line on their site, I will be honest I was not in love. There were a lot of pieces from the ads that I saw that were not available on the site. Weeks later, I was finally able to see the Melissa McCarthy Collection for Seven7 for myself at Macy's Herald Square.

There are a lot of tops, over-sized sweaters, ponte pants, and jeans. The tops are loose fitting and are great to wear with their ponte leggings or skinnies. The sweaters are kimono style which allows for layering. My favorite pieces are the blush bow blouse and the skinnies. I tried on a couple of the pieces, and for the most part the fit worked for me. The heart top I tried in a 1X, the arms were a little tight, so a 2X would be better. The kimono was perfect in the 1X since it was roomy, and the bow blouse I had to size up to the 3X for my arms. What I was actually shocked that fit well was the jeans. I tried on the skinnies in size 16 and they were perfect. They are stretchy, soft, and come high up on my waist. I definitely suggest giving these a try if you are in the hunt for a new pair of jeans. I was pressed for time so I did not get a chance to try on the ponte pants, but if the jeans are an indication of the fit, then the pants are must have as well (I love the buffalo print ponte pants the most). For a new launch, there are some goodies, and I will definitely check out what else she has in store for the remainder of fall.

Happy September Lovers!!! Today's post is about this great Fringe Tank from Eloquii. I love me some suede and leather (faux or real), so when I saw this top on Eloquii's site I just had to make it mine. Immediately when you think of fringe, the first thing that comes to mind is boho, but this top is more rock & roll than bohemian. The fringe makes it the perfect top for a night out with my woes. More times than not, I will accessorize a top with a necklace, but this top didn't need one. It's slightly cropped, so when I was looking for something to wear with it I felt a good pair of high-waist jeans would be great. The jeans are from Forever 21+ (I have been finding some goodies from them this past month), and they come up high on my waist. I consider these more of a jegging on the account that they are super soft and have 7% stretch. My shoes aka my snow leopards are from Halogen. These are no longer on Nordstrom's site, but there are some cute Sam Edelman's that are similar to my pumps. Are you up for a little fringe this season?

Smarty Pants

I can't believe it...this is my last post for August!! August is officially over, and summer is quickly coming to a close. Fall shopping is in full effect, but I have been gravitating towards fun pieces that can easily transition throughout the seasons. Forever 21+ has some great transitional goodies. I combined their High Slit Longline Vest with their Textured Drawstring Pant to make a fun and cute summer suit. Now I have never been the biggest fan of suits, but this season with all the great color and texture, I am willing to give them a try. I must say, I love the way the outfit turned out. The pants have a bit of stretch and they are not heavy, so even though it was hot outside I was able to be cool and cute. My top is the Ponte Bandeau from Harper + Liv. This bandeau is a definite must have and currently on sale. Ponte is one of my favorite fabrications because its wrinkle resistant (because who has time to iron), and stretchy. The bandeau has great coverage but still gives the flexibility to show some skin. My Nobel shooties are from Steve Madden, and I got these last week. These are great!!! First, the peep toe (I love showing off my pedi). Second, the heel height, Third, the price (I picked these up on sale and was able to use an additional coupon- SCORE!!). You will be seeing these a lot this fall. With all the basics I was wearing, I went with my neon Michael Kors tote. I love this tote, you can never go wrong with a perforated neon tote. Fun and functional how can one resist? Summer is winding down lovers, are you ready for Fall?

Ladylike

While reading my September issues this week, I saw Kate Spade's Fall ads. I love Kate Spade's ladylike charm, and it was the inspiration for today's post. Kate Spade ads are always pretty and polished with just a hint of posh. Immediately when I thought of what to wear I went with this Pleated Dress from Forever 21. It's lightweight and the hunter green color is great color to wear as we start to transition into fall. Another reason why I like this dress is the tie belt. I am not the biggest belt person, but the tie belt can easily change the dynamic of the dress. You can wear like I did with the belt to help define your waist or go sans belt to wear it loose. You can wear this dress to work, to happy hour, to a late night date night with ease, and then remix it for the weekend. A must have for any lady is a great handbag, and I went with the Tyra Zip Tote from Fashion to Figure. It is roomy (there's plenty of pockets), and it comes with a strap if you want to use it as a shoulder bag. The jade color of the handbag provided a nice contrast against the hunter green. I have been playing around with colors within the same family as a way provide some depth. Usually my go to is a pop of neon with a pastel, but I love how this turned out. When it came down to what to wear on my feet, I grabbed my animal print flats. I love these flats from Louise Et Cie (these were first featured in my NSale post a month ago). You can never go wrong with animal print. It goes with everything and it takes your outfit up a notch. What is your go to when you are feeling ladylike? Sound off in the comments. Muah!!

Now & Later

Summer is winding down (I can not believe its the middle of August). With all the great clothes coming up for fall there was a late summer collection collaboration from Garnerstyle & Rebdolls. This nautical inspired collection was filled with stripes, cool skirts, and an amazing wrap dress. I loved soo many pieces from the collection, but I wanted to buy items that I can easily wear into fall. I went with the On Deck Crop Top, because there are so many ways I can wear this easy striped top with all my summer clothes as well as the ones I have for fall. I went with the 2X which worked out perfect for me because even though it it stretchy it is still fitted.

NOW

For me the best outfits are the ones I don't plan. With the gorgeous weather I paired On Deck with my Ponte Circle Skirt from Eloquii. I am big fan of ponte (its comfortable and wrinkle resistant) and with it being white I was able to capture the nautical feel of the collection. This is a great easy going skirt, I wear it all the time, and its currently on sale. I went simple with my accessories, my silver DV by Dolce Vita flats (which have been a summer staple for the past two summers), flower sunnies from Lane Bryant, and my pendent. My purse is my oldie but goodie from Coach.

LATER

This is my go to outfit for fall. I always loved khaki's (must be to due to working at the Gap as a teen). These are new to Lane Bryant and are called the Softest Chino. These fit great and they are true to their name. If you are looking for a pant that is easy going, definitely give these a try. For a little print mixing, I wore a tortoise shell necklace that I picked up from the Baublebar sample sale earlier in the spring. My booties are from Dolce Vita, I have had these for a while, but they now have an updated version. My purse is from Dooney & Bourke. If you have not noticed, I am a big fan of their bags. I love classic shape purses that I can dress up or down with my ever changing wardrobe.

These are just two versions of what I would wear with this shirt. For date night I was thinking of a blue bodycon skirt with some cute pink heels. Have you found any items that are transition worthy?
