Shine Bright

Remember when wearing stripes was a big no no? Wearing sequins was not even an option for us at one point. My how the times have changed. Sequins always had a soft spot in my heart since my days in dance school. Fun costumes with all their sparkly glamour. The more sequins the better. Now looking back, I have always been a fashion addict, because I am sitting here reminiscing about costumes from my childhood...lol.

I was going to the Erykah Badu concert in Brooklyn, and I felt this was the perfect occasion to wear my Striped Collared Sequin Dress from Eloquii. When this dress went up on their site, it was a must have for me. I do enjoy dressing up, and this is the perfect dress for it. It's preppy collar and stripes give this dress a wearable appeal despite it being made entirely of sequins. Most sequined clothing limits your range of motion because the lining does not stretch. This is not the case with this dress. This dress is sold out on their site, but Eloquii has a polka dot version. Definitely check out their site, because they are going fast (four women at the concert stopped me and asked where I got it from). I paired the dress with the Adele Laser Cut Bootie. I thought these were the perfect booties to wear for a night out on the town. The wide width of these are perfect, and you can feel the extra cushioning.  The bootie is 4 inches, so if you are like me and have been wearing 2-3 inch heels for so long, going back to 4 inches was a little weird at first. After my feet got used to some height I was fine for the rest of the night.

I had so much fun at the concert. Erykah did her thing and it was great spending time with my friends. Now that we are in holiday season you can easily get caught up with work, shopping, and just the everyday hustle, it's nice to have a night out with great music, friends and a great cocktail. The countdown is on lovers, how are you going to spend the last month of 2015?

Hello Lovers!! The Holiday Season is officially in full swing and I as well as my awesome blogger boo's got together to do a Holiday Lookbook featuring Lane Bryant.

During the holidays, I tend to stay in more and watch movies and basketball with the family, so picking Cozy Christmas as my theme was a no brainer. This outfit from Lane Bryant is perfect for Christmas shopping, or just lounging out for some good ole Netflix & Chill. A jogger is essential, especially one with a great embellishment. I love a good jogger, because you easily dress this up with pumps and a jacket, or dress it down like myself and wear a comfy sweater and puffer vest.  My sweater is called the Double V Pullover, and ladies if you do not have one in your closet, please add it immediately. I love sweaters that I can easily transition the majority of the year. I can wear this sweater as a base (like I did here), or I can wear it over a button up for a preppy feel. It feels great against the skin, and it comes in a myriad of colors. When I am out and about on the weekends, I love throwing on a vest. It's the best of both worlds. I can be warm when I am outside, but while I am in stores I am not hot with tons of layers on. I am a big fan of the Livi Active collection- the collection is fun athletic wear and this Metallic Vest is thin yet extremely warm. The weather here in NY has been pretty warm during the day, but breezy, and this vest has kept me warm. Added bonus, I got to walk this cutie Anakin (Darlene's baby) while he made his blogging debut. Isn't he just too cute!!!!

Shout out the fab 6!! Don't they look amazing!?! Definitely check out all my fellow blogger boo's websites.

Don't forget to add the hashtag #DashandBash to your LB looks this season!! Muah!

I love a good pair of knee socks, but I always had to deal with them being too tight around my calf, or by the time I got to work the socks were swimming around my ankles. Until there were more wide calf options for socks, I took it as an occupational hazard.

Rocking a Lane Bryant Embellished Sweater with a Forever 21+ Faux Leather Dress

And then came Xpandasox. These socks are PERFECTION! It has a stretch panel so that it can accommodate calves up 24 inches. Yes---all big calves can rejoice. My calves are around 17.5"-18" and these are the best. Since it was a wonderful day, I decided to give my socks a test run. I'm telling you, definitely support this company. The panel is made from breathable material so you are warm but still comfortable. I don't like wearing socks or tights at times because my legs get hot, but this stretch panel is the truth. I had them on all day and they did not fall down or cut into my legs. I am wearing the zebra print knee high socks from their Purrfect Goddess collection. I'm definitely going to get me some more, because these are great to wear with my all of my boots that I bought this season. What are you waiting for? Head to their site ASAP, and get you at least 2-3 pairs, because once you start wearing them, you will not want to wear any other socks. Lovers, you have been warned. Muah!!

L&T-Modamix Holiday Party

The wonderful ladies of Modamix invited me as well as my fellow blogger boo's Sandra from La Pecosa Preciosa and Darlene from Suits, Heels, and Curves to attend Lord & Taylor's Holiday Party. Lord & Taylor was unveiling their holiday windows, and held various celebrations throughout the store. The 6th floor hosted a fabulous Holiday Fashion Show. I love a good show with a DJ spinning and the champagne flowing. The show featured some great pieces from Modamix's Fall and Holiday collections. Added bonus, my boo, the talented Gavyn from The Curvy Cutie was one of the models. Gavyn wore the Ari Printed Scuba Jacket with the matching Nikki Scuba Leggings. Kristen is wearing the Cameron Floral Crop Top. The biggest trends for the Holiday season (Velvet, Sequin, Layering) were on display and how you can make them work for all body types.

For the event, I wore Modamix's Sasha Fringe Dress with my black BCBGeneration pumps. I love the faux leather fringe detail. It makes a statement without any added effort. The ponte material is nice and thick which is great for the Holidays because you can be warm, comfortable, and sexy. I would definitely wear this dress to work with a blazer and a great pair of flats, then change into some nice heels, and a dark lip (like I did) and head to happy hour or your Holiday party.

I had a great time, and my girl's looked fab as always. Darlene wore the Abby Cold Shoulder Top with the Morgan Wide Leg Pants and finished it off with Adam Lippes for Target flats. Sandra wore the Sparkle Sequin Top with the Callie Sequin Pants. Sandra's sparkling shoes are from Lane Bryant. We are one banging trio. Modamix definitely knows how to make some great clothes for plus size women. You can buy all of our looks from Lord and Taylor. BIG SHOUT OUT TO MODAMIX!! Thank you for thinking of me and inviting me to take part in this great event.
